Lipton Ice Tea brings ‘The Lipton Lunch Club’ to Spitalfields for a sunny lunchtime with a double-decker, DJs, games and free lunch and iced tea

Swap ‘al-desko’ for 'alfreso' at Lipton Lunch Club

Lipton Ice Tea is launching a Lunch Club which will be will be touring the country to encourage Brits to change their lunch break habits, to get up from their desks and out in the sunshine to enjoy their lunchtime this summer.

To bring sunshine to their lunchtime and rediscover the joy of taking a break, Lipton has created a pop-up featuring a double-deck bus, live entertainment, complimentary Lipton Ice Tea, fun outdoor games, and a live DJ.

Lipton will offer visitors a free lunch at the Lunch Club during certain times, at select locations across the nationwide tour.

The Lipton Lunch Club tour will also visit Nottingham 18 - 22 June, Manchester 25 - 29 June,  Liverpool 2 - 6 July, Birmingham 9 - 13 July, Bristol 17 - 21 July and Portsmouth 23 - 27 July.

Phil Thomson, Senior Business Development Director at Lipton Ice Tea said, “We are thrilled to bring sunshine to the millions of people who don’t take a midday break and remind them of how refreshed and energised they feel after taking a dedicated lunch break. The launch of the Lipton Lunch Club tour in London will kick off a great couple of months travelling the UK encouraging Britons to make the most of their lunch break to reap the benefits of a boosted mood and increased social wellbeing.”

Rachel Ama, Lipton Head of Lunch, plant-based cook and author said, “It is so important to reset yourself throughout the day; mentally and physically. So many of us try to power through the day to achieve as much as possible but often this doesn’t benefit overall productivity, which was evident in the results of the Lipton research. A way I try to give myself a break through the day is by simply pushing myself to dedicate a time to have a lunch break. A break for a mental reset and to refuel the body. I love that you can join Lipton’s lunch club tour over the summer to take that break and get a Lipton Iced Tea.”

Lipton® surveyed 2000 professionals and the research has found that Britons aren’t taking their lunch break and desk-side dining has become the new norm. Statistics show that 89% know that taking a break is quite important, but only 18% of people actually eat lunch away from their desk, while 60% skip their lunch break completely at least twice a week. Interestingly, 44% claimed they're better at taking a lunch break when there is something on or somewhere to go to, and 50% of people agreed feeling a boosted mood and uplifted energy when they leave their desks. This proves that overall the benefits of taking a dedicated lunch break often outweigh the reasons for not taking one as they increase social interaction and wellbeing.
