This is the latest opening at The Whiteley, following the success of Nela. Located within the new Six Senses London hotel, the restaurant focuses on modern British cuisine with a strong vegetable-forward approach, where fermentations play a key role, even featuring a dedicated fermentation lab in the kitchen. There will also be a separate bar serving cocktails and a wine list curated by Decanter World Wine Awards judge Eugenio Egorov. In the mornings, the space will also operate as a café, offering house-made breads and viennoiseries.

The Langham saw its Roux at the Landau closing in 2023, followed by Mimosa from French group Moma, which lasted just five months. Now Markus Thesleff’s The Thesleff Group (behind Los Mochis and Sale e Pepe), are opening a seafood version of the original Sale e Pepe in Knightsbridge restaurant.

The new restaurant at the Four Seasons Tower Bridge, replacing the hotel’s former two-Michelin-starred dining concept by Anne-Sophie Pic. This contemporary, fire-led steakhouse is run by Executive Chef Luke Armstrong (previously of The Ledbury and L’Envol). The restaurant can seat over 70 guests and will feature a private dining room in partnership with the French wine estate Château Haut-Brion, showcasing rare vintages. Med Salleh Kopitiam is opening a new site in Kentish Town, bringing its vibrant Malaysian street food to North London. Restaurateur Jeremy King is set to relaunch the historic Simpson’s in the Strand, following the success of The Park and the revival of Arlington. King is restoring the landmark venue with several distinct spaces: The Grand Divan is the main dining room and will serve traditional British dishes including grills, roasts, pies and game, alongside a substantial Full English breakfast; Upstairs, Romano’s will offer an all-day brasserie-style menu with accessible pricing, while Simpson’s Bar will focus on classic cocktails. Late-night venue Nellie’s will stay open until 3am, and the grand Assembly Room will host large private events with space for up to 135 guests.

After 20 years on Westbourne Grove, Taqueria is relaunching as TAQ, with a refreshed concept led by restaurateur Jackson Boxer (known for transforming Orasay into Dove). Controversial US fast-food chain Chick-fil-A is preparing to open its first London restaurant. The brand previously attempted to launch in the UK in 2019 with sites in Reading and Aviemore, but both closed following protests over the company’s past donations to conservative Christian charities criticised for anti-LGBTQ+ positions. Since then, the company claims it has changed its charitable focus, now supporting initiatives linked to education, homelessness and hunger. Japanese restaurant group Maki & Ramen is opening a new Soho location, taking over the former La Bodega Negra site. The brand was founded in Scotland by Hong Kong-born chef Teddy Lee and aims to sit between casual grab-and-go and high-end dining. The extensive menu will focus on sushi and ramen, with around 17 ramen varieties including several vegan options. It will also feature a late-night bar, with a licence until 1am.

Notting Hill’s Holy Carrot is set to bring its excellent plant-based cookery to Spitalfields. But there’s a twist – the second Holy Carrot will be vegetarian rather than vegan. Not a total pivot from the west London’s restaurant’s original ethos then, and vegans will still be more than welcome, with most dishes abiding by their dairy-free doctrine. Holy Carrot started life as a supper club before a Knightsbridge residency, opening its first restaurant in 2024 on Portobello Road. It’s run by fashion journalist-turned-restaurateur Irina Linovich and chef Daniel Watkins, formerly of Acme Fire Cult in Dalston.

New cocktail bar with a dramatic drinks concept using the Loggerhead technique, where a 1200°C iron poker is plunged into cocktails to enhance flavour and aroma. The basement bar at El Pastor in Soho is being completely revamped and will reopen as El Siete, accessed via a discreet pink door on Brewer Street. Chef Aktar Islam, whose Birmingham restaurant Opheem became the first Indian restaurant in the UK to earn two Michelin stars, is opening his first London restaurant in Borough. Named after the Awadhi region of India and its culinary roots in Lucknow, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, the restaurant will focus on traditional Awadhi cuisine, with dishes such as kebabs, layered biryanis and aromatic curries, alongside slow-cooking techniques like dum pukht.
