Temaki

Temaki, which first opened in Brixton in 2021, is returning with a new location after closing its original site last year. Founded by A.M. Dupee, the restaurant will continue to focus on Japanese handrolls inspired by Californian handroll bars, alongside dishes such as crispy rice with premium fish, A4 wagyu sliders, sashimi and sandos. The larger Mayfair space will include a downstairs listening bar–inspired room, plus a drinks menu featuring sake flights and cocktails.


The Mary Wollstonecraft

A new neighbourhood pub is taking over the former Ryan’s Bar site after its closure last year. The pub is being launched by Nick Bailey, owner of The Robin Ale & Cider House. The venue is expected to focus on independent beers, real ale and classic pub snacks, with a dining menu also planned. A large rear garden should make it a popular summer spot for locals.


Kinz

No. Forty Nine

The team behind Cinder is opening No. Forty Nine in St John’s Wood, a bakery, all-day bistro and evening wine bar. The venue will serve freshly baked pastries and breads by day, before transitioning into a bistro offering Mediterranean and New York-inspired dishes. Led by Chef owner Jake Finn and head chef Ella Williams (ex Hausu, Crispin, Cafe Murano and Cinder), the menu will feature creative dishes inspired by her Jamaican heritage with European technique and East Asian influence. In the evenings, the space will operate as a wine bar with a focus on Old World wines.


Lady of the Grapes SE1

Lady of the Grapes, the French Bistro and wine Bar supporting woman winemakers, is expanding from Covent Garden to a new, larger site in Borough. The new SE1 location keeps its focus on female winemakers, but spreads across two levels: a ground-floor French bistro restaurant (around 60 seats plus terrace) and a basement wine bar called Forbidden Fruit, seating 45 and offering around 400 wines alongside charcuterie. The original small-plates, cheese, and wine-led concept is being scaled up into a more ambitious multi-level venue.


Appalachia

Former Shoreditch chef’s table restaurant Counter 71 is being relaunched as Appalachia, inspired by the cuisine of the Appalachian region of the United States. Led by chef Alistair Borer, formerly of Smoking Goat and Nutbourne, the new menu reflect the vision of American co-owners Camilla Meshiea and Ryan Sheenan. The counter-style dining format will remain, while the concept shifts from British-focused cooking to American regional cuisine. Downstairs there is a Lowcountry bar run by Ryan and inspired by the South of America.


Lockdown Bakehouse – Putney

Darjeeling Express – Chinatown

Award-winning chef Asma Khan is relocating Darjeeling Express after three years to a larger two-storey site in Soho, where Horvada and Long Chim used to be. The new restaurant will seat 130 guests, making it the biggest home yet for the popular Indian restaurant. Known for its Bengali, Hyderabadi and Kolkatan-inspired cuisine, Darjeeling Express will continue to host its popular biryani supper clubs and remain staffed by its distinctive all-female kitchen team.


Carmy’s

A new NYC-style pizza slice shop opening from the team behind Carmela’s, including Phil Chaykin (of Ugly Dumpling) and social-media food creators Bite Twice – Gerry del Guercio and Paul Delany. Focused on speed and simplicity, Carmy’s will offer just three pizza options: cheese, pepperoni and a rotating special. Led by Carmela’s head chef Aaron Murphy and general manager, Davide Paone, the shop will use ingredients sourced from the UK and Italy and will operate primarily as a grab-and-go destination.


Zylia

A new Greek and Cypriot taverna opening at Arcade Covent Garden, led by chef Nick Molyviatis (formerly of Kiln and Singburi) and hospitality veteran Barry Karacostas. The 50-seat restaurant will focus on charcoal-grilled dishes inspired by Greek and Cypriot family recipes, including sheftalia, souvlaki, lamb kleftiko, grilled fish and traditional mezze. It will have its own entrance and a menu celebrating both cultures.


The Olive Oil Bar

Citizens of Soil is bringing back its popular Olive Oil Bar for a month-long pop-up in Covent Garden after a successful run in Notting Hill last year. The pop-up will offer walk-in olive oil tastings alongside bookable 90-minute masterclasses covering olive oil tasting, cooking techniques and food pairings. Some sessions will also include wine pairings in collaboration with Naked Wines.


Maggi Pop-Up

Buvette London

New York-founded Buvette is returning to London with a new 80-seat restaurant in Neal’s Yard, led by chef Jody Williams. Following a short-lived Notting Hill outpost, Buvette’s new location will serve French-inspired dishes such as croque monsieur, coq au vin, cassoulet and escargots, alongside breakfast options and a French-focused wine list.


Mimosa

A new cocktail bar, rooftop restaurant and social venue spanning multiple floors. It features a central cocktail bar, VIP mezzanine, lounge spaces, private rooms and a rooftop garden with a retractable roof, designed to transition from daytime dining and brunches to evening drinks and events. The food menu, created by Michelin-trained chef Hermann Eric Allangba, focuses on elevated sharing plates and signature dishes.


‘MOTH: Licence’ corner shop pop-up

Scottish street-food favourite Deeney’s is opening a café at the new Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration. Located in the restored Boiler House at New River Head, the café will offer Deeney’s signature Macbeth grilled cheese toasties, soups, salads and coffee, with seating for 40 indoors and a large terrace. Founded by Carol Deeney, the café will serve both gallery visitors and locals. The centre’s inaugural exhibition, Performance, will also feature Quentin Blake’s illustrations of every character from Macbeth, a fitting connection to Deeney’s popular Macbeth toastie.


Anya Hindmarch The Ice Cream Project Pop-up

Over 140 years old, Olympia is the main hub for large trade shows in London and is getting a £1.3billion refurbishment, wit two hotels, a big entertainment venue with a new music arena, a new theatre and 20 new bars, cafes and restaurants planned. Olympia recently launched Pillar Hall and is set to unveil a major new rooftop destination as The Incipio Group (team behind Pergola Brixton, Pergola on the Wharf, The Libertine, The Prince and The Palm House) are taking over 39,000 square feet to open four new venues:

Bar Arriba– a Mexican-inspired approach with a bottomless brunch on Saturdays. 

Wolves of Tokyo – a 300-cover Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar led by a head chef from Roka, serving sushi, sashimi and premium dishes. It will also features a large rooftop bar with space for around 200 guests, offering an izakaya-style menu and Japanese-inspired cocktails.

Lillie’s – rooftop wine bar and restaurant serving British small plates and English sparkling wine, also serving afternoon tea.

The new location will also feature a significantly expanded wine programme, with nearly double the number of wines offered at the Soho restaurant.


Vagabond – Carnaby

Reopening as Dante Mayfair, the venue will be led by restaurateurs Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson. The refreshed restaurant will bring Dante’s New York-inspired atmosphere to Mayfair, with signature dishes such as burrata, shrimp cocktail and chicken alla diavola expected to return. Bootlegger Covent Garden

A new rotisserie chicken restaurant opening in the Winchelsea Road railway arches in Forest Gate. Founded by chef Amil Ourabah (ex sous chef at The Coach & Horses), alongside Jake Salter and Andrew Neilson (great-nephew of Terrance Messenger, the last Mayor of Leyton). The restaurant will focus on corn-fed, responsibly sourced, 100% halal chicken seasoned with a bespoke Algerian spice blend. TOAD Bakery – Deptford

Award-winning TOAD Bakery is expanding with a second location. Founded by Rebecca Spaven and Oliver Costello, the bakery was named London Bakery of the Year at the 2025 National Bakery Awards. The new site, located in a former rectory near Deptford Market Yards, will be significantly larger than the original Camberwell bakery and feature an open-plan kitchen where customers can watch bakers at work. The expanded space will support new product development and training opportunities for aspiring bakers.


Authentique Epicerie & Bar

French bakery and café Authentique is opening a new location, taking over the former Passage Pantry site. The bakery, which already operates in Tufnell Park and Finsbury Park, will offer traditional French breads, pastries and café dining and coffee by Conscious Coffee. The shop will also stock deli products including cheese, charcuterie, wine, jams and honey to take away.


Coyo Taco

Opening Date: June 2026

Miami-based taco chain Coyo Taco is making its UK debut in London. Known for its “todo es fresco” philosophy, the restaurant prepares ingredients fresh daily, including hand-pressed corn tortillas and made-to-order guacamole. The menu is expected to feature Mexican favourites such as birria, al pastor and carne asada tacos, alongside burritos, tortas, quesadillas and churros. The venue will also include Bar Coyo, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar focused on mezcal and tequila, bringing the brand’s popular Miami concept to the capital.

They are also doing a pop-up takeover at Hoxton Arches on the 3rd of June offeringfree tacos and tequila.


Haldiram’s

Founded in 1937, Haldiram’s is India’s largest sweets and snacks brand, operating in more than 80 countries and running over 200 restaurants across India. The company is now set to open its first UK restaurant, a 120-seat venue with additional outdoor seating.
