Hyundai’s Unexpected Wellness Retreat: A Spa Experience Inside an Electric Car
Can a car become a sanctuary? Hyundai thinks so. In a city where moments of peace can feel increasingly rare, Hyundai is inviting Londoners to rethink where relaxation can happen. This June, the automotive brand is launching an innovative one-day wellness experience that transforms its flagship all-electric SUV, the IONIQ 9, into an intimate Korean-inspired spa.
Spa in a Car offers visitors the chance to enjoy complimentary K-beauty treatments inside the spacious cabin of Hyundai’s largest electric vehicle. It’s a concept that feels both surprising and strangely fitting for modern life.

The idea stems from new research commissioned by Hyundai, which reveals just how precious downtime has become. According to the study, more than eight in ten Britons admit they have remained parked in their car simply to enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet. More than half (55%) say their vehicle is one of the only places where they can truly switch off from the demands of everyday life, with 72% of Brits saying many of their childhood memories were formed in the family car.
For many, the car has evolved beyond a means of transport. It has become a personal refuge, a place to decompress before heading into the office, collect thoughts after a busy day, or simply enjoy a rare moment alone. Recognising this shift, Hyundai has reimagined its all-electric IONIQ 9 as a wellness destination.
Guests visiting the pop-up will be treated to authentic Korean wellness experiences delivered by therapists from Fine Clinic London, specialists in advanced K-beauty techniques.
Visitors can choose between two restorative treatments: a tension-relieving head, neck and shoulder massage designed to release stress and promote balance, or a facial massage incorporating cooling skincare treatments and advanced Hysonic technology.

While the treatments are undoubtedly the headline attraction, the event also offers a glimpse into Hyundai’s vision for future mobility. The IONIQ 9’s generous interior space, lounge-like seating and premium comfort features make it uniquely suited to the concept. Rather than showcasing performance statistics or technology alone, Hyundai is highlighting how vehicle design can contribute to wellbeing and quality of life.
The exclusive event will offer free 20-minute sessions available throughout the day. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance here.
Hyundai’s Spa in a Car offers an intriguing reminder that wellbeing can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places. In an era where personal space and quiet moments are increasingly valuable, perhaps the future of luxury isn’t just about where we’re going, it’s about how we feel while we’re getting there.
