National Restaurant Awards 2026: UK’s Best Restaurants Have Been Revealed

The UK’s finest chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality professionals gathered at Magazine London today for the National Restaurant Awards 2026, one of the most anticipated events in the British culinary calendar.

This year’s awards celebrated the restaurants shaping the future of dining across the UK, with one of London’s most beloved restaurants claiming the industry’s highest honour.

After climbing steadily through the rankings in recent years, Bouchon Racine has officially been named the UK’s best restaurant, securing the number one position in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100. The acclaimed Farringdon restaurant, led by celebrated chef and restaurateur Henry Harris, rose from fifth place in 2025 to take the crown. Since reopening in late 2022, Bouchon Racine has earned widespread praise for its unapologetically classic French cuisine, warm hospitality and enduring charm.

In a first for the awards, second place was shared by two restaurants: last year’s winner The Ritz and Somerset favourite Osip, reflecting the exceptional standard of dining currently found across the UK.

The 2026 list welcomed 29 restaurants for the first time, highlighting the continued evolution of Britain’s restaurant scene. London once again dominated the rankings, accounting for 55 restaurants in the Top 100, including 20 new entries and several much-loved returnees such as Perilla, Tollington’s, Brawn, Kudu and 40 Maltby Street.

From Michelin-starred institutions and innovative neighbourhood restaurants to countryside destinations and gastropubs, this year’s rankings showcase the remarkable range and diversity of dining experiences available across the UK.
