La Roche-Posay Named Exclusive Suncare Supplier for Wimbledon in New Sun Safety Partnership

La Roche-Posay has been named the exclusive suncare supplier for The Championships, Wimbledon, in a new partnership designed to promote sun safety and skin health throughout the tournament.

The collaboration brings together the All England Lawn Tennis Club and La Roche-Posay to raise awareness of the importance of protecting skin from UV exposure, particularly during the summer months when millions of people spend more time outdoors.

With melanoma rates in the UK reportedly rising by around 30% over the past decade, sun protection remains an important public health issue. La Roche-Posay says that around 90% of melanoma cases are considered preventable through measures including effective sun protection and reducing excessive UV exposure.

As part of the new partnership, La Roche-Posay expects to distribute more than 500,000 sunscreen samples across the Wimbledon Grounds during the two-week tournament.

Visitors will also be able to discover the brand’s GAME. SET. PROTECT. activation, which will combine product information and educational content with expert-led sun-safety guidance.

The activation will also feature interactive experiences, competitions and prize giveaways, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about protecting their skin while enjoying the tournament.

The initiative forms part of a wider approach to guest wellbeing at Wimbledon. Alongside the free suncare samples, the All England Club has highlighted its water stations and increased provision of shade and shelter across the Grounds.

Usama Al-Qassab, Marketing & Commercial Director at the All England Club, said the organisation was pleased to welcome La Roche-Posay as its Exclusive Suncare Supplier for The Championships.

Caroline O’Neill, Managing Director of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty UK, said: “At L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty, we believe that skin health is a fundamental pillar of overall well-being.”

She added that the partnership would allow La Roche-Posay to champion sun-safety education on a global stage, making protecting skin an integral part of spending a summer day outdoors.

The partnership also builds on La Roche-Posay’s long-standing focus on dermatological skincare and UV protection, including its Anthelios suncare range.

The campaign is also supported by tennis star Jannik Sinner, who is a global brand advocate for La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios range.

From applying sunscreen regularly to seeking shade and staying hydrated, the La Roche-Posay and Wimbledon partnership aims to make sun-safe behaviour a natural part of enjoying the summer.
