London Summer Events Show 2018

London Summer Events Show 2018

Our Gold Flamingo flew to: Banking Hall Central London

The London Summer Events Show was organised by Story Events for agencies and PAs from the events market to promote the hottest venues, suppliers and trends for the Summer season.

It may have been 7 degrees outside but the sun was shining in Banking Hall! Some highlights from ladysummerskye’s showcase: there were picnic menus with fruits and flowers for guests to enjoy, cocktails by cammandhooper , edible adventures by flavourology and guilty pleasures (yes, cakes!!) by gccouture (seaside and unicorn themes).

The show was decorated with sunny yellow and purple flower arrangements by Hybrid Flowers, and colourful umbrellas hanging from above the main exhibition area, by Event Prop Hire, for a British seaside theme.

Entertainment was provided by Illuminated who had, you got it, illuminated dancers entertaining guests, cheeky temporary tattoos provided by Doris Loves, and mini cut out portraits of guests by the talented Roving Artist. These are just a few nice ways to add a bit of glam fun to your events.

From a wide range of venues our favourite was Amber Lakes in Staines as they are on a riverside location which is the trend for Summer events. Next on our list would be the Historic Royal Palaces for glittering banquets in historic sites, and for some modern parties, Maxwell’s venues: Tropicana (where we saw our gold flamingo dancing on the table on a few occasions) and Café de Paris.

If you’re looking to add an experience to your event in order to make it memorable, then, Mercedes Benz World offers driving experience for guests as well as a museum, Newbury Racecourse for a fun afternoon, Odeon for making guests feel like VIP in their lounge, Thames Luxury Charters for cruises or ZSL London Zoo for a special encounter.

On a separate note, hats off to two Event suppliers who give back: Connection Crew who have staff that experienced homelessness and Change Please - a coffee production company who employs homeless staff to train as coffee baristas and supports them get back into housing.

Have a golden day (well, summer, in this case)!
