Cantu Beauty UK has announced its exciting collaboration with celebrity superstylist Angela C. Stevens, and the launch of the incredible new line ‘Protective Styles by Angela’.
The collection is specifically created for black and brown women who celebrate wearing protective Styles like wigs, weaves, braids, and locs.
US-based Angela C. Stevens is an Emmy-winning hair stylist and TV personality with an impressive roster of A-List celebrities she's worked with, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Eve, and Rita Ora to name a few. Angela Is also the CEO/founder of Conscious Curls, a premium range of hair extensions and wigs. With Angela's extensive experience as a much sought-after hair stylist and her contagious passion for healthy hair and education, Cantu approached Angela to spearhead the development of the range to meet the needs of those who want to ensure styles have extended where and look great for longer.
Angela says:
“Since I was a child, I have loved the artistry of creating protective styles . Adding hair to my braids and playing with extensions started out of necessity to make myself feel confident about my damaged hair.
The problem in many of our communities is that product knowledge usually isn't part of the conversation. The hair must be hydrated before braiding, and synthetic hair must be cleansed, or run the risk of irritation. Also, the removal process shouldn't be traumatic and painful. These products all help, as well as daily styling in between."
Cantu Protective Styles by Angela comprises of six multi-use products, exclusively designed to maintain the hair’s health while promoting growth, for those who regularly wear braids, wigs, extensions, and other protective styles. Each product is infused with a blend of tea tree oil, peppermint, and notably, apple cider vinegar – a powerful key ingredient that balances the pH balance of the scalp, as well as clarifies the hair. These purifying ingredients are crucial for eradicating the grime and build-up that often occurs when wearing protective styles.
The collection consists of a Hair Bath & Cleanser (£9), a deep cleaning shampoo with antibacterial properties, a Conditioning Detangler (£9) to add slip but without residue, and a Set & Refresh Foam (£9) which provides medium hold without crunch or build-up. There’s also a revitalising Hair Freshener (£9), scalp-soothing Daily Oil Drops (£9), and a multi-functional Braiding & Twisting Gel (£8) for setting foundations, smoothing edges and roots, and providing crunch and flake-free hold.
