Sainsbury’s is opening Pud You Dare Café - the UK's first ever dedicated Christmas pudding establishment, to try to bring the classic ‘pud’ back back to its former glory.
A recent research has revealed that one in five Brits – and almost a third of Gen Z (31%) – believe the traditional Christmas Pudding will disappear within three years.
To get the pudding back on the table, the pop-up invites pud lovers, sceptics and haters to try out several Christmas pudding options that are available at Sainsbury’s for FREE. Options include the classic Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference 18 Month Matured Christmas Pudding along with the brand-new Caramelised Biscuit Pudding (as seen in the Sainsbury’s 2022 Christmas ad), with a range of delicious toppings to choose from.
The pud will come with a choice of seasonal tipples, such as Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Spiced Ginger Biscuit Irish Cream Liqueur, Taste the Difference Chocolate Mulled Wine or Taste the Difference Cranberry and Orange Presse.
Expect a fruity sponge, vine fruits laced with a hint of brandy for a boozy hit and a generous drizzle of spiced caramel sauce and caramelised biscuit crumbs to create a delicious fusion of traditional and modern tastes.
You'll be devouring for a good cause, too. For every attendee at the café, Sainsbury’s will donate £3 to Comic Relief. And any surplus food from the pop-up will be provided to Sainsbury’s long-term redistribution partner, FareShare, through their London delivery partner The Felix Project.
