Skittles opens rainbow-inspired ‘House of Joy’

Skittles “House of Joy” is a raibow-coloured pop-up cafe that will give visitors the chance to have their mood lifted by some of the UK’s most iconic drag queen talent. The Vivienne, Cheryl Hole, Vanity Milan and Starlet, known for being stand-out cheerleaders, will be delivering motivational pep-talk and performances for two full happy days.

The pop-up will feature eye-catching rainbow installations, a free Skittles rainbow coffee, a motivation mirror where visitors can write positive affirmations to themselves and others, create the rainbow wall, photo backdrop, free hot drinks and more.

The experience is designed to give visitors a boost in mood and motivation after it has been found that 71% people interviewed have said that February is the most demotivating month of the year, blaming it on the cold weather (61%) and being short on money following Christmas overspending (38%).

Speaking about the Skittles House of Joy, Ryan Pardo-Roques, Senior Brand Manager, Skittles said: “February is a hard month for everyone, so it felt fitting to open a space dedicated to giving people the boost they need to get through it. To be a drag queen is an act that takes a lot of self-confidence, motivation and most importantly self joy, so we could think of nobody more fitting to lead our motivational sessions than The Vivienne, Cheryl Hole & Starlet. We hope everybody takes something positive away to see them through the rest of the month”.

And of course, all guests will receive their very own pack of Skittles Squishy Cloudz to enjoy for some sugar-rush adrenaline kick.
