Don Papa Rum, the premium single island rum, has unveiled its limited edition ‘Secrets of Sugarlandia’ gift canister for Christmas 2022. It aims to raise awareness and support key conservation efforts on its island home of Negros Occidental, known locally as Sugarlandia.
The Phillipines is now the third largest rum market in the world after India and USA, with Don Papa having led the way. The rum is distilled and aged for over seven years in American oak barrels on the island of Negros Occidental. It is the pure, original Negros sugar cane that is the foundation for Don Papa Rum’s long, rich-textured finish and flavours of vanilla, honey, and candied fruits.
The ‘Secrets of Sugarlandia’ canister is a mesmerizing tropical visual feat, encapsulating the rich, lush flora and fauna found on the island, and some of its critically endangered species including the Bleeding Heart Dove, Visayan Warty Pig and Visayan Spotted Deer, Visayan Tarictic Hornbill and Rufous-Headed Hornbill.

The Christmas gift is also about giving back to protect and care for the precious and endangered species in Sugarlandia. A percentage of the canister sales will support conservation works of key organisations such as the Talarak Foundation (preserving and increasing endangered and endemic species), the Philippine Reef, and the Rainforest Conservation Foundation (leading sustainability programs across the country).
