Stormzy is opening an immersive seven-floor bar and club in Soho, on the former Milk & Honey space, "modelled on an adolescent house party experience", so imagine "red cups, sofas, pizzas and chaos", live performances from various DJs and artists, old-school consoles and karaoke. The Cream Group, the team behind Cirque Le Soir and Flippers London, are in charge of the bar, while the food will include pizzas and giant NYC-style pizza slices, Dr Pepper slow-cooked sticky wings all "delivered in-house by a Domino’s-style delivery man". Fun fact: Sormzy's first BMW is at the basement.

You Call The Shots at The Plough

Friendly Hackney wine bar will pop-up at The Plough pub for the summer to do a preview of their upcoming opening, with a rotating cast of chefs: on 8 June they will have Spasia Dinkovski (from Mystic Burek) serving Balkan cuisine, then on 13-15 June will be Joe Couldridge (of The Prince Arthur) and a pierogi weekender with Paris Rosina on 21-11 June. Marie Mitchell and Ginn Khao will be popping up in July and August.

 

Big Grill Festival

Europe’s biggest BBQ & Food Festival is coming to London for an intimate live-fire cooking and entertainment event, as part of their 10-year celebrations, in collaboration with From The Ashes BBQ. Tickets are £50 and include four dishes.

 

Souk el Salam

A peace market designed to raise money for aid to Gaza, through the Amos Trust. Some of the UK’s top chefs and food writers will come together to host this, such as Sami Tamimi, Noor Murad, Nicole Pisani, Phil Khoury Philip Juma (Juma Kitchen), Jad Youssef (Lebnani Restaurant), Ayesha Kalaji and more. There will also be the chance to buy products from Zaytoun, Shorkk, Akub and Fil. A ticket is £20 and includes two food items from any of the stalls.

 

The Little Violet Door

Cult favourite pizza chain Gracey’s from St Albans is partnering with old school cafe Terry’s in Bermondsey to bring New Haven style pizzas to London for one day only. The pop-up will 'blend New Haven classics with Terry’s British comfort food' claimed James Woodley, co-owner of Gracey’s, and prices for 16-inch pizzas start from £18.

 

Gozney Presents Proof Supper Club

MHK Meatball Competition

Chefs from eight top London restaurants will compete in a challenge to make the best meatballs in Executive Chef Tom Cenci's kitchen at Mortimer House in order to raise funds for the Movember charity. On the list for the inaugural competition are:

Tickets are £25 and include samples of each dish, a drink on arrival by Limoncello di Capri and a vote, and can be bought here. The winning dish will be included in the menu at Mortimer House Kitchen on Father’s Day as a special.
